Rebecca JAMES

Managing Associate, Linklaters; and CGA Director of Marketing & Content Development

I am a Managing Associate in Linklaters' dispute resolution practice specialising in international arbitration and public international law, with experience acting for corporates and States.

I have expertise representing clients in disputes across various regions (including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the US) and sectors (including energy, infrastructure, aviation, telecommunications, technology, crypto/digital assets and finance). My experience includes:

- representing clients in international commercial arbitrations (ad hoc and under most major sets of institutional rules (including the SIAC, HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, CIETAC and SCC rules), and with a range of seats and governing laws), and investment arbitrations.
- acting in related court proceedings.
- acting in public international law disputes.
- advising on disputes processes and structuring investments to optimise investment protection.

I am also a key member of Linklaters' global cross-practice ESG team, and regularly advise clients on managing ESG disputes risk.

I am dual-qualified in England & Wales and Victoria, Australia. I have taught at Queen Mary University of London and the ELSA/Athens Public International Law Centre summer school on arbitration, and regularly speak/publish on topical arbitration and ESG disputes issues.
