Shawn MCDONALD

Shawn McDonald is a Vice-President at Baker & O’Brien in its Houston office. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including holding key roles in major engineering and project assignments in onshore and offshore developments. Shawn is a degree-educated electrical engineer with extensive experience in engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical facilities for major oil and gas projects. Before joining Baker & O’Brien, Shawn worked for Chevron where he held a variety of staff and management assignments in engineering, operations support, and major projects (onshore and offshore, both domestically and internationally). His assignments included electrical and instrumentation design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of facilities, as well as roles in project management. As the appointed subject matter expert, Shawn has worked on a wide range of EPC disputes involving combined cycle power plants, gas processing facilities, petrochemical facilities, and LNG facilities. He has prepared expert reports and provided oral testimony on several occasions, opining on design, construction, commissioning, and project execution issues.
