Sophie TAN

Sophie Tan currently serves as a Relationship Manager for both the London Metal Exchange (LME) and its clearing house, LME Clear. In this role, she leverages her extensive industry expertise to support members, enhance engagement, and drive strategic initiatives within the exchange ecosystem.

Previously, Sophie Tan played a key role in the establishment of LME Clear in 2014. She contributed to the implementation of the central counterparty clearing infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to the highest risk management standards. Following its launch, she managed the day-to-day operations of LME Clear, focusing on operational efficiency and client service excellence.

Before joining the LME, Sophie Tan began her career in France at Société Générale, working in the Base Metals Sales Division. She later moved to Singapore and then to India (primarily Bangalore), where she established and operationalized the bank’s base metals back-office functions across both locations, ensuring process optimization and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. Subsequently, she joined Crédit Agricole CIB in London as a Project Manager within the Commodities Division, where she led cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects and process improvements.
