Valéry Denoix de Saint Marc is a seasoned lawyer licensed to practice by the Paris and Berlin Bars, and he has been a partner at August Debouzy since 1998.

Since 1996, Valéry has served as an arbitrator, assuming roles such as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, or chairman. He has represented various parties, including public entities and sovereign states, in proceedings governed by the rules of numerous arbitration institutions such as ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIS, and CMAP, as well as in ad hoc proceedings.

In addition to his arbitration practice, Valéry provides counsel to French and international clients on matters relating to mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and mining and infrastructure projects. He also advises governments, particularly those in the CIS, northern and sub-Saharan Africa regions, on investment legislation, arbitration, and privatization.

From 1991 to 1997, Valéry served as an associate at the Berlin office of a prominent Franco-German law firm. In this role, he advised French, US, and UK clients on their activities in Germany and provided counsel to several CIS countries on legislative matters, focusing on international investment, arbitration, company, and contract law.

Since 1998, Valéry has been responsible for overseeing international transactions and arbitration at August Debouzy, where he also provides legal guidance to sovereign states and their institutions.
