Marie-Aude ZIADé

Marie-Aude is Partner in the Dispute Resolution department of CBR & Associés, a French independent law firm reputed on the market.

She advises and represents French and international companies, private equity funds, international organizations and senior executives in strategic domestic or cross-border litigations and arbitrations. She also assists her clients in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Marie-Aude acts as counsel, arbitrator and mediator.

Prior to joining CBR & Associés, Marie-Aude cofounded the independent boutique firm Fierville Ziadé dedicated to dispute resolution. She started her career in the International Arbitration department at the Paris office of White & Case LLP. Marie-Aude then joined the French firm Wilhelm & Associés where she practiced commercial and white-collar crime litigation. She subsequently joined the in-house legal teams of several major corporations (Arkema, Amazon, Areva). She was General Counsel – Head of Disputes of the Areva group (now Orano), one of the world’s leading company in nuclear energy.

Marie-Aude always seeks solutions to complex disputes that are relevant and efficient on a long-term basis. Through her experience as both external counsel and in-house lawyer, she acquired a deep understanding of a client’s ecosystem and developed cross-disciplinary skills that allow her to handle sensitive cases with a 360° approach. Accustomed to handling matters covered in the media, she is also at ease with crisis communications.

Marie-Aude has been individually distinguished in International Arbitration by Legal 500 EMEA, Décideurs and Le Point. In 2023, she received the Décideurs’ Silver Award, with Special Mention of the Jury, for her International Arbitration practice. She is also referenced in “Commercial Dispute Resolution” and “Mediation” by Legal 500 EMEA and Best Lawyers. A client quoted says about her: ‘Marie-Aude Ziadé is efficient and one of the best within her generation’.

Marie-Aude is regularly invited to speak, in France and abroad, in key professional events related to complex judicial proceedings, international arbitration and ADR proceedings. Similarly, she is also often asked to share her experience with regards to the duty of care and, more generally, with regards to the protection of Human Rights by companies operating at a global scale.

She is a member of a number of recognized professional organizations (Paris Arbitration, International Law Association, International Association of Lawyers, etc.).
