As intra-African investment continues to grow, driven by regional integration, AfCFTA implementation and the rise of African investors, new legal and dispute-related challenges are emerging.

Transactions increasingly involve African investors operating across diverse regulatory, political and economic environments, raising questions of risk allocation, investor protection and effective dispute resolution. This conference will explore the legal frameworks governing intra-Africa investments, with a particular focus on risk management and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Drawing on practical experience, speakers will discuss how contracts, domestic laws, regional instruments and arbitration can be used to anticipate, manage and resolve disputes arising from intra-African investment activities.

The discussion will address whether existing arbitration tools are fit for purpose in this evolving context, how disputes involving African investors and African States are being handled in practice, and what trends may shape the future of intra-Africa investment disputes.

The event is intended for arbitration practitioners, in-house counsel, investors, policymakers and academics with an interest in Africa-focused investments and dispute resolution.

This event will be presented in both English and French. Please note that no interpretation or translation will be provided.
