Anne-Charlotte MARTINEAU

Anne-Charlotte Martineau est chargée de recherche au CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) et directrice adjointe du Centre de théorie et analyse du droit de l’université Paris Nanterre et de l’École normale supérieure de Paris. Elle a soutenu en 2013 une thèse intitulée « Une analyse critique du débat sur la fragmentation du droit international », dirigée par Martti Koskenniemi (Université d’Helsinki) et Emmanuelle Jouannet (Université Paris Sorbonne). Elle s’intéresse au droit international dans une perspective critique et historique. Ses récents travaux visent à mettre en lumière l’histoire juridique de la traite négrière transatlantique et de l’esclavage. Elle y analyse le rôle du droit international dans la mise en place et la perpétuation de ce système d’exploitation.

Anne-Charlotte Martineau is a Senior Research Fellow at the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) and Deputy Director of the Centre de théorie et analyse du droit at Paris Nanterre University and the École normale supérieure in Paris. In 2013, she defended a PhD dissertation entitled “A Critical Analysis of the Debate on the Fragmentation of International Law”, supervised by Martti Koskenniemi (University of Helsinki) and Emmanuelle Jouannet (Université Paris-Sorbonne). Her research focuses on international law from a critical and historical perspective. Her more recent work aims to shed light on the legal history of the transatlantic slave trade and slavery, analyzing the role of international law in the establishment and perpetuation of this system of exploitation.
