Chau Ee LEE

Chau Ee, an international construction energy infrastructure specialist, having previously lived and worked in London, Dubai and Beijing, acts for parties from conception through completion of a project life cycle with a particular emphasis on:

• project development / project counsel including contracts procurement such as advising, negotiating and drafting concession agreements, project agreements (EPC and its variants, and O&M) and ancillary contractual documentation; and

• dispute management such as dispute avoidance (including alternative dispute resolution) and dispute resolution (including international arbitrations seated in Singapore, Doha, Dubai and London, among other jurisdictions, conducted under institutional rules administered by leading international arbitral institutions, or ad hoc arbitration rules).

Chau Ee is well versed in Asian and Western law firm language and culture with an impressive range of cultural law firm experience at partner level:

• presently as a Singapore based partner of UK firm Addleshaw Goddard, he established and heads its International Construction & Engineering practice in Asia;

• most recently as an international partner of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), he was a Beijing based partner of Red Circle Chinese firm King & Wood, and when he was based in KWM's Singapore office he was a partner of Big Six Australian firm Mallesons;

• prior to that he was a director in Big Four Singapore law firm Drew & Napier LLC's market leading Dispute Resolution practice (where he trained and spent the formative years of his career) as its head of Construction & Engineering group and co-head of Projects Energy & Infrastructure group; and

• earlier in his career, he was a Europe Middle East Asia (EMEA) London and Dubai partner of a US global law firm (that had a transatlantic merger with a leading London headquartered law firm) where he held administrative, management and leadership roles including office managing partner, head of practice and member of the global leadership team as well as being one of the founding members of that firm's Dubai office, and established and led its Construction & Engineering practice.
