Claire PAULY
Claire Pauly advises and represents companies before international arbitral tribunals, including ICC, ICSID, LCIA, and ad hoc under UNCITRAL Rules. She works with clients across various industries, particularly those in the energy, retail, real estate, and pharmaceuticals sectors. She also represents clients in annulment, enforcement, and arbitration-related proceedings before French courts.
A native French and Italian speaker, Claire is also fluent in English and able to work in Spanish. She is particularly well versed in complex contracts, risk allocation, and economic issues.
Claire has represented oil and gas majors in contractual and gas pricing disputes. She has also represented a Japanese company in ICSID proceedings against Spain arising out of the overhaul of the Spanish legal framework applicable to the renewable energy sector.
Claire has extensive experience in post-M&A arbitrations and in the termination of distribution agreements in a variety of sectors, including wine, pharmaceuticals, and automotive.
Claire is author of numerous publications in the field of arbitration. She teaches arbitration and litigation strategy at the University of Paris II-Panthéon Assas, Sciences Po Paris, the University of Paris Saclay, and the Centre for Mediation and Arbitration of Paris (CMAP).
Claire has been identified as a future leader in international arbitration by Who's Who Legal since 2019.
