Lucy PRESTON

Managing Associate

Lucy Preston practices international commercial dispute resolution, primarily in the construction, energy, infrastructure, aviation and projects sectors.

Lucy regularly works with the major arbitral institutions (ICC, LCIA, SIAC) as well as in the English courts. Lucy has similarly worked in a number of jurisdictions on cross-border litigation, including the Middle East, West Africa, North America and Europe in cases as wide ranging as determining performance and delay liquidated damages applicable in relation to a solar project in Mexico to analysing over 550 changes in respect of contract changes, value engineering, delay and disruption in relation to a significant infrastructure project in the Middle East.

Lucy “has a tonne of experience in complex construction disputes and is beyond reliable” (Legal 500) and combines her construction and energy experience to work increasingly in the renewables sector, including solar power, onshore and offshore wind projects. Clients in the sector have described her to Legal 500, as “incredibly hardworking, conscientious and astute” and “a real talent and a genuine pleasure to work with”. Many of these projects have involved significant advisory work at the front end, as well as settlement advice, and advising on and using adjudication, expert determination and mediation as dispute resolution mechanisms. She has also worked on a number of public international law matters, including under the UNCITRAL rules.

Lucy is recognised for International Arbitration by Legal 500 UK, and regularly publishes on international arbitration matters.
