Alexandra VAN DER MEULEN
Alexandra van der Meulen is a counsel at Freshfields. Alexandra specializes in international commercial arbitration, public international law, and investment arbitration. She has appeared as counsel in institutional and ad hoc arbitral proceedings, including under the ICC, LCIA, SCC, ICSID, ICSID additional facility, and UNCITRAL Rules, as well as before the International Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights.
She is admitted to practice in Paris and New York and is bilingual in English and French. Alexandra teaches an annual course of seminars on international commercial arbitration at the University of Fribourg, an annual course of seminars on international dispute settlement at Université Paris 5 and is a visiting international law lecturer at King’s College, London.
She is a member of the Arbitration Week Committee since July 2023.
Alexandra collects street art and loves visiting galleries and fairs with her husband. She enjoys watching old classics, is a slow (but happy) hiker and a dedicated foodie. Most of the time, though, she is impersonating Star Wars characters with her three sons.
