Independent Arbitrator

Anne K. Hoffmann is an internationally recognised arbitrator with over 20 years of experience in both commercial and investor-state arbitration. She is dual-qualified in Germany and England & Wales and has worked in civil law and common law jurisdictions around the world, practising at leading law firms in London, Geneva, and Dubai before focusing on her work as an independent arbitrator.
Ms. Hoffmann has acted as chair, sole arbitrator, and co-arbitrator in more than sixty arbitrations across various institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, SCC, HKIAC, and others. She has also been appointed to investor-state arbitrations, including under the ICSID Rules, both as a co-arbitrator and as chair.
In addition, Ms. Hoffmann is an active member of several arbitration organisations and is listed on the panel of arbitrators of SIAC, HKIAC, KCAB, AIAC, and others. She is also the Chair of the Advisory Committee of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). Ms. Hoffmann is consistently recognised as a leading figure in international arbitration, being named a Global Leader in Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal since 2014 and a Global Elite Thought Leader since 2024.
