Professor Emeritus

Catherine Kessedjian is Professor Emeritus at the Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II. During the 2016-2017 winter semester, she is posted to McGill's Faculty of Law as Senior Wainwright Fellow and Visiting Professor. Until 2016, she was Deputy Director of the European College in Paris. She founded the LLM in European law at Université Panthéon-Assas in 2008 and directed it until 2016. In 2016, she was Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Padua. From 2004 to 2011, she was Hauser Global Visiting Professor at New York University School of Law. In 2010, she was Visiting Professor at Yale Law School. She specializes in private international law, international trade law, private international litigation and corporate social responsibility. She is a CEDR-accredited arbitrator and mediator. She is a life member of the American Law Institute. For this institution, she is a member of the International Advisers Committee for the Restatement on Foreign Relations Law. She is President of the French branch of the International Law Association and Vice Chair of this association worldwide. In 2017, she was elected associate member of the Institut de droit international.
