Jacqueline CHAPLIN
Jacqueline is Counsel in the international arbitration team and a Solicitor-Advocate with over 12 years’ experience of international arbitration and cross-border commercial disputes. She is notably recognised as a leading arbitration practitioner and has been ranked as a Rising Star by Legal 500 in International Arbitration for the past four years. Jacqueline is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has lectured on public international law and international arbitration at Queen Mary University of London. Jacqueline currently chairs Linklaters’ global Gender Diversity in International Arbitration Task Force.
Jacqueline has conducted ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under all major arbitral institutional rules (including ICC, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL) with particular experience in bringing and defending claims involving governments and governmental entities. Jacqueline also acts as counsel in High Court litigation cases, often in connection with arbitral proceedings. She has brought and defended post-award enforcement and nullification actions in various jurisdictions. Recent highlights include acting for BP in a multibillion-dollar arbitration against the Government of India, and obtaining a US$500m LCIA award against a Saudi Prince.
