Jean-Christophe GALLOUX
Professor Jean-Christophe Galloux (Dr. iur., LLM EUI) teaches intellectual property law at the Law faculty of Panthéon-Assas and thought at the International Center for Intellectual Property (CEIPI Strasbourg) for more than twenty years. He also headed the Intellectual Property Research Institute (IRPI) of Paris for 14 years
He has been visiting professor at numerous universities: Montréal (Mc Gill and UM), Columbia (NY), Budapest (ELTE), München (Ludwig-Maximilian and Max-Planck Institute), Moscow (MGU), DIFC (Dubai), Singapore etc.
He is the author of more than 300 publications in intellectual property law, competition law, pharmaceutical and biotechnology law. He published several books and recently “Droit de la propriété industrielle” (Collection “Précis”, Dalloz, 1400 pages, 9th ed. 2025), which is the leading adademic book in this field.
He has been an adviser to the European Commission, UNESCO, WIPO and OECD for IP matters and of several academic boards among others Max Planck’s MIPLC (Munich)
After 35 years as a member of Paris Bar specialised in IP litigations, he now practices intellectual property matters as mediator and arbitrator.
Prof. Dr. Galloux has been elected in 2013 at the National Academy of Pharmacy and appointed by the President of the French Senate as a member for the High Council for the Judiciary (2020-2023).
