Deputy Secretary General and Head of Operations

Madeleine Thörn is Deputy Secretary General and Head of Operations at the SCC Arbitration Institute. She leads the case management team which administers an annual case load of ca 150–200 commercial and investor-state disputes, with parties from ca 40 jurisdictions.

Prior to joining the SCC, Madeleine Thörn was an advokat and associate at a boutique law firm and at an international law firm in Stockholm, Sweden. Madeleine focused on domestic and international arbitration and commercial litigation. She has experience in disputes in a number of different industries and areas of law. Before that, she served as drafting law clerk at the Swedish Supreme Court and as law clerk at Solna District Court.

Madeleine Thörn is active in the arbitration community and has served as member of the Advisory Board of YAS (Young Arbitrators Sweden). As such, she arranged the YAS Arbitration Day and international webinars, and has presented at and moderated events.
