Nina Lauber-Thommesen is an independent arbitrator based in Geneva, Switzerland, with extensive experience in international dispute resolution. Her unique background combines a Nordic legal education, in-depth knowledge of Swiss law, and broad international experience, making her a highly skilled expert in the field. She has been involved in over fifty international arbitrations, including more than fifteen as an arbitrator.
Ms. Lauber-Thommesen has worked on a wide range of disputes across various industries, such as construction, energy, joint ventures, M&A, banking, sports, and licensing agreements, and under all major arbitration rules, including ICC, SCC, Swiss Rules, DIA, LCIA, and UNCITRAL. Her experience spans both civil and common law traditions, and she is well-versed in different national arbitration acts and substantive laws.
Before founding her own practice in 2023, Ms. Lauber-Thommesen was Counsel at Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler and Python & Peter, both in Geneva. Nina frequently speaks at events and has contributed to several publications on international arbitration. She is fluent in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, English, and French.
