Niranjan VENKATESAN

Niranjan is a barrister at One Essex Court. It was recently announced that he is to take silk in March 2025 (after only nine years in practice).

Before taking silk, Niranjan was one of the leading juniors at the Commercial Bar in London. He has appeared on numerous occasions in the UK Supreme Court and regularly acts as lead counsel in high-value disputes in the Commercial Court/Chancery Division and in international arbitration. He was named Chambers & Partners Commercial Litigation Junior of the Year 2024 and Legal500 Junior of the Year 2023 and is ranked in Band 1 for Commercial Dispute Resolution.

Before coming to the Bar, he read for the BCL and DPhil at the University of Oxford, where he was a Vinerian, Eldon and Rhodes Scholar.
