Professor Dr Rosa María Lastra is the Sir John Lubbock Chair in Banking Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS), Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). She is director of the Banking and Finance Institute at CCLS, co-director of the Sovereign Debt Forum, co-director of the UNIDROIT-QMUL Institute of Transnational Law, Vice-Chair of MOCOMILA, research associate of the Financial Markets Group of the London School of Economics, member of the European Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee (ESFRC), the European Banking Institute (EBI), the European Law Institute (ELI) and P.R.I.M.E. She is a renowned author in her areas of expertise and has consulted for the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, the World Bank, the Bank for International, Settlements, the Bank of England, the Asian Development Bank, United Nations (UNCTAD), the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the European Parliament (Monetary Panel and Banking Union Panel). She has also acted as Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords in 2009, 2021 and 2023.
