Benjamin SIINO

Benjamin Siino is a founding partner of Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes. Previously, he was a partner at Shearman & Sterling LLP where he practiced for more than ten years. His experience includes international ad hoc arbitrations, including under UNCITRAL Rules, and institutional arbitrations under the Rules of the ICC and ICSID, with a strong focus on energy, investment and general commercial arbitrations. Benjamin also regularly acts as counsel in litigation proceedings, focusing on proceedings to seek recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments.

Benjamin lectures on arbitration and enforcement of arbitration awards at Paris II Panthéon-Assas, Paris-Saclay University and the Arbitration Academy. Author of several publications on arbitration-related litigation, Benjamin recently co-edited the 2021 edition of the GAR Guide to Challenging and Enforcing Arbitration Awards. Outside arbitration, Benjamin provides regular oral advocacy trainings in high schools and universities.

A former rugby player (for two decades), he has recently converted to CrossFit – which may or may not be as exhausting as playing sports with his two boys every weekend.
