Nick ELLISON


Managing Director

Nick Ellison is a Senior Director in the Data Insights and Forensics practice, based in London. In addition, he also serves as the Lead for the Technology Expert Services team, providing expert testimony in contentious technology matters.

Nick leverages more than 15 years of IT technology consultancy, data science and software development experience in assisting clients across sectors like travel, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, financial services, charities/third sector and hospitality.

He specializes in software and technology IP matters including artificial intelligence (AI) misuse of IP, data privacy group litigation, disputed delivery of web and software development projects, fitness for purpose assessments, IT security controls and cyber risk. His technical skills include multiple programming languages, database management, AI/ML digital forensics and blockchain technology.

Prior to joining Kroll, Nick founded multiple software consultancies and digital agencies. He has also co-founded several startups in a CTO capacity and provided expert advice on a range of technology implementation projects for third parties. Before that, he was a consultant at Deloitte in the data team of the Enterprise Risk Services division.

Nick holds an M.Eng. (honors) in systems engineering with computing engineering from the University of Warwick. He is also a PRINCE2 Practitioner, a Chartered IT Professional (CITP), a member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET), a member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), a member of the Society for Computers and Law, a member of the Expert Witness Institute (MEWI) and a member of the Academy of Experts (MAE).
