Giovanni ZARRA
Giovanni is a senior associate of the Rome Litigation and Arbitration team of Hogan Lovells.
He has a significant experience in international arbitration law (focusing on both commercial and investment arbitration) and international litigation (with particular knowledge on matters involving issues of public and private international law). He is considered to have a wealth of knowledge in international arbitration, as testified by the appointment in the ICSID Panels of Arbitration and Conciliators (starting from March 2023) and the inclusion in the prestigious ISDS Academic Forum. He also gained particular experience on shipping and international trade.
Giovanni is full professor of international law and international litigation at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. He holds a PhD (University of Naples Federico II – with honours) and a LLM with distinction (Queen Mary University of London). In 2019 he was visiting professor at the Max Planck Institute for Private International Law in Hamburg.
